San Francisco North KOA, Petaluma
A quick stop in San Rafael to have a walk around a small lake in the downtown area. Then we set the GPS to the campground but to avoid highways. This took us far into the countryside and a nice ride reminiscent of Santa Ynez. Instead of 24 miles on Hwy 101 we went about 38 miles.
All of a sudden we saw a sign for cheese tasting so stopped to take advantage of that.
We discovered that there is a Cheese Trail (who knew?) Below is a section of the Trail in this area. We stopped at 03.
We arrived in Petaluma and quickly found a place to park so we could explore some of the downtown. It's a happening place, very picturesque and interestingly has a road bridge which we were able to see a bit of. Hopefully we will get to explore more tomorrow as we're here for another night.
