Pillar Point RV Park, Half Moon Bay

 Fog hasn't lifted all day and in fact, the fog horn has sounded since we got here yesterday.  Not a big deal, it's still a great place to be.

We went off on the 6 mile walkway and walked to the Pillar Point Harbor and El Granada village.

So many breakwaters in this bay!  Didn't take photos of all of it.

Very interesting that in this small village of El Granada there are TWO Peruvian restaurants just doors apart...




We walked down to Sam's Chowder House for dinner and had this wonderful view.


Liked their attitude at this restaurant.  Everyone we saw was very respectful.

A day of exploring Pacific Grove.  A new spot that we haven't known before even after coming here for 40 years ...  The Kissing Rock The waves were abnormally high today with an expectation of 13 to 17 feet which made driving along the coast quite interesting. As always, you see deer everywhere there is greenery. We discovered the Butterfly house... What a kick!  Has a sign for Hillary for 2016! Of course we had to wander through the cemetery.

Butterfly Grove Inn, Pacific Grove

More new experiences today starting with a drive through Elkhorn Slough.  This is " 7-mile-long tidal slough and estuary on Monterey Bay in Monterey County, California. It is California's second largest estuary and the United States' first estuarine sanctuary." An interesting road to get through the Slough!  The photos below were taken through the window.  Then it was on to Moss Landing Harbor.   This is huge!   By accident we discovered there is a campground in the harbor and it looks pretty good.  If we had known about this yesterday we would have stayed there instead and been happier.  The coastline as we got close to Monterey, as we're flying by at 60 mph. A stop at Monterey Harbor for a walk around, lunch and Norm checking out a boat for sale.  Boy, did we luck out with this hotel!  We're thrilled and will stay here another night and do some exploring.   It's been many years since we were here.  We used to come u...
